Mack Porter is the baby of four children. He is not yet three years old, and on Wednesday January 20th, 2021 his parents received the earth shattering news that their silly, energetic baby boy has cancer.
Mack started with subtle symptoms of lethargy, a small rash, decreased appetite and signs of respiratory distress. After a few weeks of visits to the pediatrician and treatments for suspected pneumonia/asthma, Macky was taken to the ER by his mother during a particularly scary episode of respiratory distress. A chest X-Ray revealed a large mass in that tiny little body. This unwelcome tumor was almost immediately diagnosed as cancer and little Mack was admitted to the pediatric ICU that same day. Unfortunately, for now, biopsies and tests have been unsuccessful at giving this family the exact diagnosis as to what type of monster this cancer is and specialists across the nation have been reached out to in order to ensure a correct diagnosis and an effective treatment plan can be made. Dani and Ty Porter are living a nightmare. Due to COVID restrictions, both parents have not been allowed in the hospital room at the same time. They are a couple who devote most of their time serving and caring for others. Ty is a registered nurse and Dani is a integral volunteer for a non-profit organization focused on eliminating child trafficking. Their contributions to their community are felt deeply and now it's their turn to be the recipient of love and support. Many people have reached out to see how to help and so this page has been created to provide a means to bear one another's burdens. Donate what you can, a little can go a long way!
